HUGE update.
So, i haven't posted on here since...AUGUST?
O_o
my bad.
Well... to bring you up to date,
i have a wonderful boyfriend now. His name is Daniel. he is my missing puzzle piece.
into art, music, fashion (he is going to start making his own t-shirts), design, and literature. he's cultured and an incredible writer. he amazes me constantly.
quite a catch.
speaking of CATCH...
What a Catch, Donnie-
i just got the new Fall Out Boy cd, last week. I think i probably have listened to it AT LEAST 30 times. in fact, i'm listening to it now. Patrick Vaughn Stump= probably the best songwriter of the year. his melodies on this album are UNBELIEVABLE. his range is different now too. and they seem to be getting back to their roots. i've noticed more pop punk influence/heavier riffs, and Andy's drumming definitely has an edge to it that was nowhere to be found on Infinity on High. Pete's lyrics are better than EVER. puns that play with your perception of the meaning. phrases that get stuck in your head. lines you wish you wrote. i could write a book just inspired by his lyrics. and Joe's guitar skills have built up to some really neat little tricks. listen closely.
just. listen.
because i think you'll hear some familiar voices as well. Brendon Urie, Debbie Harry (BLONDIE...yes you heard me), Pharrell, Lil' Wayne, ELVIS COSTELLO FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!! and then of course, on "What A Catch, Donnie", a lot of Fall Out Boy's fellow labelmates and tourmates make background appearances toward the end, singing old lyrics from a wide range of FOB classics. you have to check it out.
if you are looking to buy an album, BUY FOLIE A DEUX.
(see that, Fall Out Boy? I'm advertising for you... ADVERTISING! now... *SignMeToDecaydance?* lawl)
thursday is christmas, can you believe it???
i sure can't.
=p i don't much care for christmas...
it's all about material things. yeah, it's nice seeing family but i think it's more stressful than the outcome is worth.
besides, it's a sabotage.
...it's a time of feasting. disgusting feasting.
and i can't count the containers of cookies i've received.
how about a little bottle of diet pills from someone?? -_- that'd be great, thanks.
oh. by the way. don't expect to see much coming from Fire At The Fairgrounds. I think i'm restarting. i have new equipment. i have a new outlook. i want to create some minimalistic/pop punk/indie stuff.
oh, and if you've never heard of this guy. Herve This (it's french so the pronunciation is all wacky)... hes the father of Molecular Gastronomy. It's pretty much the study and creation of the most modern and innovative way of preparing AND eating food, and it revolves around SCIENCE. you really need to check it out, foodies. i promise, you'll want to go out and buy liquid nitrogen right after looking at the possibilities. so cool.
i really want to go to one of the restaurants.
speaking of FOOD.
Anthony Bourdain is probably my favorite person. He's witty, adventurous, ...cranky (reaaaally cranky) but still tolerable, unlike Chef Ramsey..., outspoken (to say the least), and he knows how to make a good show: No Reservations. I've been watching it for quite a while, but now that i'm on vacation, i watch it nearly every day if i can. it comes on travel channel. cool stuff.
well, i need to get going.
i will definitely be posting more. <3

I've slept in a kiddie pool...how many people can say that???
It's been a while!!! I've been in New Jersey for quite a long time now. I'm going home on Tuesday.
I have mixed feelings about all of it. I want to go home and start school again, but I really like it here as well. The people I've met and spent time with are nothing like my friends back home. Don't get me wrong. I love my friends back home. But the whole feeling of this place is completely different. We walk to the store almost EVERY DAY. Yes, we do go to the store every day. I'm not exactly sure why because we don't really ever need much... But does it matter?
And there's actually a movie theater within walking distance too! My cousin came us wth some cool things for us to do since I've been here. Now she has left for Volleyball camp and I won't see her until...well...possibly next summer. Hoping it will be before that though.
So I'm sure you're wondering about the title of this post... and if you're not.. I'll tell you about it anyway.
So every time my cousin and I went to the store, we'd stop and look at this FANTASTIC blow-up kiddie pool with an awning and cool clear plastic "windows". It was a thing of glory.
Well...one day we were by ourselves on a quick trip to visit her Ecuadorian friend and pick up a few things. We had a credit card. So.......... WE BOUGHT THE POOL
and set it up in her room. (no water, duh)
I slept in it that night... and the next night she slept in it.
most uncomfortable thing i've ever done.
but nonetheless.....
it was an experience.
this entire vacation has been an experience. and overall, a very good one. I will keep you posted. nothing much more to do now that my cousin is off at camp.
kiddie pools, "everywhere's", payphones, and milk and cookies at 2 in the morning.
good times.
good times.

a movie script ending [ideals, rainbows, and realization]
whenever one's favorite style of dress or music is discovered, one develops a taste for what they think of as their norm...nay...their ideals. they make a scale for grading the things they find. 0-10.
gossip is a 0.
skinny jeans are a 10.
the music i listen to is about an 8 or 9.
boys are 2's. [almost all of them]
peach ice cream is an 11 on days when boys are less than a 2.
and gossip is slightly voided from it's unimportance if there's a rumor going around about you and the less than 2's and what happened when the 10's weren't included in the action and the 8's and 9's played loud in the car stereo speakers.
we read lips in the dark. and we read magazine's when the power is out. by candlelight we look into the depths of imagination and find a true fear of dark corners and shadows. shadows that show only in dim-lit situations and disappear when you close your eyes. we close our eyes to see. the light comes through your eyelids like sun through stained glass windows in a church. but your eyelids keep secrets. unholy grey glow of rainclouds taint the reflection in the fountain of youth. we never did what they said. we never said what we did. we kept our secrets in secret places in the backs of mystery novels. stealing candy bars from gas station counters. and living at front desks of hotels. going down the the names until you find your own, is like looking in a cemetary for your own headstone. which room was it again? you never made a reservation. nevermind that. we sleep on lobby couches. we'll always take the free coffee at the record store. red lipstick leaves traces on styrofoam cups in local cafe's. they never saw me leave. they never asked me to stay. we weren't wanted here. so we up and left. went to the old oak in the abandoned park where the swings rust and children are still at home with game controllers in hand. they're holding guns to heads in countries no one's heard of. we took forceful leave of all things natural. the converged graphic details. they hybridized "truth" with "fiction". we mixed up the colors of the rainbow and got a nasty shade of grey. we've got the whole story. nothings so bright when you look at it all together is it? nothings so bright as a single light in the dark. let one light in. we'll find our own way home.

well...thats a killer...
i just realized
for about the fourth time
in my sixteen year life
that nothing
is as it seems.
never trust a dog
same goes for a man.
they can beg.
they can speak.
they can play fetch.
but don't look one in the eyes.
and don't expect
infinite friendliness.
just as you are befriending
the mangy mutt
they can turn around
and bite you in the face.
or they'll get of the leash
and run for the hills.

sometimes things don't work out like you planned
so my cousin didn't get here last night. they didn't leave as early as they thought they would, so they stopped at a hotel. honestly, i was disappointed. considering it's only an eight hour trip as opposed to the 14 hour trip i took to florida with my mom (we didn't stop at a hotel the entire trip). but it is understandable, since my grandpa is getting older and doesn't do as well with long trips.
they should be calling soon so we can go meet them at the local CVS, since our house is new and back in the woods and doesn't appear on my grandpa's escalade navigation system when you punch in the address...
i'm picturing my grandpa pulling up in his escalade to this small little house and parking next the the henhouse... ahhhh good times...
well they just called. time to go get them! ^_^

i just realized something...
interesting how distracted i get sometimes. i just realized that those of you who are reading this blog don't know that i am a musician. i am currently recording under the name Fire At The Fairgrounds, hence the URL. I am highly inspired by bands such as Fall Out Boy, Coheed and Cambria, Death Cab for Cutie, Paramore, The Postal Service and other such interesting bands. i have been compared to the Cranberries. you may disagree, but that is one's opinion. check out my links. see what you think. if you haven't been to purevolume i highly recommend you go there.
waiting for my cousin to get here...hours are never as slow as when you're waiting for something.

more at home away from "home"
i'm going to be at my mom's house for most of the summer. i love it here. it makes me feel even more at home than my regular home.
i've been staying on the phone really late while i've been here. every night. till morning. i have my reasons.
i sleep until noon and wake to a white walled room with dark curtains. its like an ice cave. except not cold.
i have lots of musical instruments that act as my roommates. it's still not the same as human company though. i miss my friends sometimes. but then again, it's nice to be able to be alone every now and then. this is a well deserved vacation for this modern day urban cinderella. but i'm not one to complain. i'm just saying...this R+R is well deserved.
my cousin is coming in from NJ tomorrow. i'm extremely thrilled that she's coming here. she hasn't been here in a long time. we're not going to be getting any sleep during her stay. and hopefully i can find a few decent bands that are playing in the area and take her to some shows. she needs to break away from those Disney kids that she listens to...no she's not years younger than I... she is 6 months younger.
she is in need of a musical intervention.
so far my advice is working. she listens to Death Cab for Cutie, Panic At the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship and Metro Station sometimes. I'm looking forward to introducing her to The Ting Tings. it will be love at first song.

analyzing the complexity of dandelions passes the time
so i'm trying out this thing called living...
i woke up today and the sky was the most incredible shade of blue. the trees were being bent by a cool wind. hardly a cloud was in the sky. the temperature was nearly perfect. cool but not chilly...warm but not hot.
and i didn't go outside.
not once!
not for any length of time, that is. only to go fetch the mail... which was only an advertisement and some bills. i was disappointed that i had not received a package. i'm expecting it though...and waiting impatiently for it.
no i did not venture into the great outdoors today, as i had to pack my belongings after only just getting home monday from a weekend trip to the beach. now i won't be back home until August 5th. i'm glad i like car rides. otherwise i would not be a very happy traveler.
